Aries

Lying between Pisces and Taurus and below Andromeda, Aries is a faint constellation made up of 4 brightish stars. Aries is most famously associated with the story of Jason and the Argonauts who pursued the Golden Fleece. The ram being a prized animal of the nomadic tribes of the middle east and it’s fleece represented in the night sky by the stars that comprise the constelaltion

Notable Objects

The most prominent and brightest star in Aquila is Altair. Derived from arabic, "altair" means "the flying eagle". The yellow-white Altair is ten times more luminous than our sun. It is at a distance of about 16 light-years. Altair forms a corner of the Summer Triangle along with the stars Vega and Deneb in the constellations Lyra and Cygnus.
